Top 5 Distracted Driver Habits

Although a high percentage of drivers are still on the phone while driving, 7th Annual National Drivers Test shows trend may be in decline

The results from the 2011 GMAC Insurance National Drivers Test suggest drivers are not paying their full attention to the road. Instead, drivers are engaging in a number of distracting activities—some more shocking than others. 

"In late May, GMAC Insurance reported that nearly 1 in 5 drivers -- or about 38 million Americans -- could not pass a written drivers test if they took it today. That's according to the insurer's annual National Drivers Test survey, which was conducted by polling 5,202 licensed drivers from 50 states and the District of Columbia. The survey posed 20 questions that were culled from various state Department of Motor Vehicles exams."
